Methods of data collection in psychopathology: the role of semi-structured, phenomenological interviews

Abstract: The quality of a case history study begins with the quality of the interviewing by which the data have been obtained. However satisfactory the standard deviations may be, no statistical treatment can put validity into generalizations which are based on data that were not reasonably accurate and complete to begin with (Kinsey et al. 1948, 35).
