Methodology of monitoring key risk indicators

Abstract: Like in many preventive activities, the effectiveness of a risk policy is hard to measure. The objective of this article is to represent the methodology of monitoring a risk management policy. We use the Markov chain methodology for the calculation of the key risk indicators (K.R.I.s) of the process. Observing them through time, it is possible to conclude the positive attitude of the risk-preventing measures undertaken on the observed process. The methodology is represented in the case of archaeological excava… Show more

“…They were asked the following open-ended question: How can key risk indicators improve the current risk management frameworks applied to PPP contracts in Mozambique or similar countries? Key risk indicators are broadly used in the literature to provide support for risk management (Timmermans et al, 2016;Pecěk & Kovacǐc, 2019;Radojkovićet al, 2019). Reviewing and monitoring risk management frameworks is necessary to improve the effectiveness of the process design (ISO, 2018).…”

“…The concept of key risk indicators emerged in this context. Traditionally, these indicators provide statistics or metrics to support organisations' risk position (Pecěk & Kovacǐc, 2019). The objective of key risk indicators is to provide relevant measures to assess critical risk factors and potential risks (Beasley et al, 2010).…”

“…These strategies can be found within those pertaining to preventive policies and improving the quality of the healthcare system. Besides time horizon, the number of people involved is considered to be a risk indicator (Peček & Kovačić, 2019 ). Also, effective tactics for crisis management and emergency planning target to cover the maximum number of people (University of Memphis, 2020 ).…”

“…Moreover, scientific work may be found focused on, e.g., HAZOP-based (Hazard and Operability Studies) approach implementation [33], or bow-tie diagrams use [34]. The problem of monitoring key risk indicators is investigated, e.g., in [35].…”
