Methodology for Automatic Determination of Contrast of Laser Marking for Different Materials

Abstract: A new methodology for determining and optimizing the contrast of the technological laser marking process has been developed. It can evaluate the quality of the markings regardless of the type of material and the type of laser system. To perform the test analysis, a specialized test field is programmed, which including the change of two of the main parameters influencing the marking process: the linear energy density (LED) and the linear density of the pulses (LDI). Marking of a test field consisting of… Show more

“…To form a quality image, it is necessary to vary the technological parameters of the laser system [19][20][21][22]. For the purposes of the research, a CO 2 laser with technical capabilities of a speed of movement of 500 mm/s along the x and y axes, and regulated laser power up to 50 W in step 0.05 W was used.…”

“…In the case of asymmetric tooth profile it is necessary to take into account the driving unit because it affects the alignment condition [6] [7] [8]. The use of the standard dependency for symmetric profile is possible when the drive is performed by satellite wheel 2:…”

“…Such optimization of the asymmetric profile based on the basic law of engagement has been implemented for output involute cylindrical gear with external engagement and the following parameters of the output contour: m=1mm, α=α*=20°, h*a=1, h*f=1,25, displacement of the contour x1=x2=0,5, number of teeth of wheel 1 of gear z1=20, u=1.5, β=0 and an open profile milling method. The data about the main qualitative indicators and comparison with the output symmetric profile are given in table 1 [11].…”
