Method for modelling of fluxgate sensor including the geometry influence

Abstract: This study proposes a new method of SPICE modelling of fluxgate sensor that considers the geometry of the fluxgate. The main advantage of the method, vis-a-vis the traditional model using demagnetisation factor, is that the inhomogeneity of the magnetisation is taken into consideration. The parameters including magnetic performance of core, the geometry of the fluxgate can be regulated easily. The proposed method was tested for a rod shape core fluxgate, showing a good agreement with experiment results.

“…The recent works in the sensors field were based on the proposal of new designs for different types of accelerometers particularly the capacitive accelerometer taking into account other parameters than damping rate . In contrast, the present work has considered the damping rate effect as the main factor to improve many parameters at the same time such as measurement error, accuracy, sensitivity, reliability, and electrical energy consumption.…”

“…Different from the above traditional methods, [15] reported a transient analysis method based on magnetic field integral equation, to research the fluxgate sensor. The main idea in the paper is to use magnetic scalar potential volume integral equation (MSP-VIE) to extract the magnetic field equation and matrix data, which serve as the equivalent circuit parameters, to construct the corresponding SPICE model, and finally utilize the SPICE solver to realize the field-circuit combined simulation.…”
