Method for Calculating the Capacity of Solar Power Plants and its Implementation in LabVIEW Environment

Abstract: The paper presents the method for calculating the capacity of an autonomous solar power plant and its components. This method allows considering a load variation during the day as well as specifying the required capacity of the battery and excluding an unjustified overestimation of the power plant component capacities along with the increase in efficiency of the autonomous solar power plant. Formula for determining the required battery capacity of an autonomous solar power plant could be easily generalized for… Show more

“…The calculation for incident radiation (P roof,t ) takes the weather factor into account for the power generated by the solar panel since it measures the radiant power received from the sun per area of the incident surface. The calculation for the generated electric power, as devised by Grigory [37], is as follows: As previously discussed, the peak nominal power of the solar panel modeled in this report is 4.08 kWp. The peak power of the solar panel relates to the amount of energy the solar panel is able to produce during the peak-hours of the day, which is considered to be when light intensity is approximately 1,000 W/m 2 or higher [37].…”

“…Electricity generation from solar-cell power plants is used almost all over the world today, and the use of solar panels is constantly growing. This is facilitated by many factors, the main of which are the use of alternative (renewable) energy sources, which have recently become increasingly relevant and the complete absence of any moving parts, so that their service life is practically unlimited [1][2][3][4]. Solar cell power plants are constantly being improved.…”
