“…Previous methods have used N , O -bis-(trimethylsilyl)acetamide (BSA) [32], N -trimethylsilyl- N -methyl trifluoroacetamide (MSTFA) [33], BSTFA and trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) [34], tributylamine [35], derivatizing reagents with a longer analysis time [35] and lower sensitivity [34] for selected energy metabolites [33,36] analyzed by GCMS [34,36] and LCMS [33,35] (S1 Table). A major lacuna in even the most recently published methods is metabolite coverage.…”

“…Apparently, the consumption of onion enhanced the modification of metabolites incited by the HC diet. However, TCA impairments have been correlated with multiple diseases where oxidative stress plays a key role, and it has been suggested that an ineffective TCA cycle might be an adaptive response directed at diminishing reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and extend cellular longevity [37,38]. Thereby, the effect of the onion ingredient in this metabolic knot should be carefully examined and needs further study.…”

“…The blood glucose can be metabolized into small molecule metabolites and then enter the TCA‐cycle, which is directly coupled to myocardial oxygen consumption. This cycle plays a key role in cell metabolism and the levels of the involved metabolites can also be affected by other physiological factors (HbA1c) . Recent study demonstrates that residents living in the pollution‐affected area always be with higher levels of urine metabolite profiles, incorporating phenylalanine metabolism and alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism.…”

“…This cycle plays a key role in cell metabolism and the levels of the involved metabolites can also be affected by other physiological factors (HbA1c). 25 Recent study demonstrates that residents living in the pollution-affected area always be with higher levels of urine metabolite profiles, incorporating phenylalanine metabolism and alanine, aspartate and glutamate metabolism. Those metabolites are linked to increased oxidative stress, including oxidative and nitrative DNA damage, and lipid peroxidation.…”
