“…The µ of the OTFT devices was calculated using the capacitance densities for the corresponding copolymers obtained from the dielectric constants in the previous section. The resulting OTFTs were characterized by having μ = 1 to 3 × 10 −3 cm 2 /Vs, I ON/OFF 1 to 10 × 10 3 and a V T = −4 to −17 V, which is typical for CuPc based OTFT devices [ 48 , 49 , 50 ]. Characteristic output and transfer curves are shown in Figure 7 .…”

“…Compared to the most commonly used planar divalent Pcs such as CuPc, Cl-AlPc forms a face-to-face p-stacked structure that leads to more-efficient p-orbital overlap, facilitating charge carrier transport. 163 Recently, Boileau et al 33 reported the impact of environmental pressure and operating temperature on charge transport and electrical stability of p-type BC/BG OTFTs based on Cl-AlPc semiconductor layer. The hole m increased from 0.001 cm 2 V À1 s À1 in vacuum to 0.04 cm 2 V À1 s À1 in air, indicating that the oxygen present under ambient conditions coordinates to the surface Cl-AlPc metal centres, which will act as an electron acceptor/trap and increase positive charge carrier density in the bulk film as a result.…”

“…Regarding molecular electronics, MPcs have gained tremendous traction towards the development of active materials a Department of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences, University of Ottawa, in organic photovoltaics (OPVs), [23][24][25][26] light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), [27][28][29][30] and field-effect transistors (OFETs). [31][32][33][34] Given the monumental role of FETs in modern-day devices, the implementation of MPcs as intrinsic organic semiconductors within these devices offers several advantages over their traditional inorganic counterparts. For one, synthetic procedures of MPcs are relatively facile, inexpensive, and ideal for massproduction at an industrial scale.…”

“…Ultrafast optical transient absorption and X-ray transient absorption spectroscopic studies of photoinduced axial ligation process in the excited state of nickel(II) octabutoxyphthalocyanine in pyridine solvent showed photoinduced axial ligation in its (d,d) excited state in the presence of ligating molecules [100]. The valence of the central metal atom, molecular weight, and the post-deposition conditions have influence on the morphology of the OTFT active layer [101].…”
