“…The NH 3 capacities of TetrZ-based DESs are compared with those of various DESs, as shown in Table S8 (see Supporting Information) at temperatures of 303.15 and 313.15 K. As can be seen, TetrZ-based DESs studied herein have comparable NH 3 capacities. Especially, at 101.3 kPa, TetrZ + 1,2,3-Tri DESs have higher NH 3 capacities (0.206–0.243 g NH 3 ·g DES –1 ) than the other DESs reported in the literature, , , e.g., NH 4 SCN + Gly (2:3) (0.176 g NH 3 ·g DES –1 ), NH 4 SCN + EG (1:3) (0.168 g NH 3 ·g DES –1 ), and GA + XYL (3:1) (0.189 g NH 3 ·g DES –1 ) . In addition, TetrZ + 1,2,3-Tri DESs are superior to other azole-based DESs, including 1,2,4-Tri +1,2,3-Tri (1:2)(0.173 g NH 3 ·g DES –1 ), MAA + TetrZ (2:1) (0.136 g/g), ChCl + TetrZ + EG (3:7:14) (0.169 g/g), 1,2,4-Tri + Gly (1:3) (0.147 g/g), and [Emim]Cl + TetrZ (1:1) (0.179 g/g) .…”

“…31,37 Inspired by this, Cheng et al used EtACl and metal chlorides (e.g., SnCl 2 , ZnCl 2 , FeCl 3 , and CoCl 2 ) as the HBAs and Gly as the HBD to form a kind of metal-based DESs for efficient absorption of NH 3 . 55 56,57 Table 2 summarizes the functional types and NH 3 absorption capacities of representative DESs reported in the literature. 48−74 Although DESs can be more easily obtained than ILs, high viscosity is still a drawback of most DESs, which mainly comes from the strong hydrogen-bond interaction between HBAs and HBDs.…”

“…The sequence of NH 3 absorption capacities is EtACl+SnCl 2 +Gly < EtACl+ZnCl 2 +Gly < EtACl+FeCl 3 +Gly < EtACl+CoCl 2 +Gly, which is consistent with the sequence of the coordination ability of corresponding metal ions with NH 3 . Besides, Li et al used LiCl as the HBA and EG as the HBD, and Sun et al used metal chlorides (e.g., MgCl 2 , NiCl 2 , CaCl 2 , MnCl 2 , and ZnCl 2 ) as the HBA and Res+EG as the HBDs, to construct two other kinds of metal-based DESs for efficient absorption of NH 3 . , …”

“…For enhancing the low mass transfer rate of the viscous DESs, the usual strategy is to impregnate them onto porous materials with high surface area; for example, silica gel, polymers, molecular sieves, and activated carbon. [51][52][53][54][55] Ghazali et al 55 introduced ChCl:U:PEI DESs onto SG200 to prepare a new solid adsorbent for CO 2 , the DESsupported composite demonstrated 60% higher adsorption ability than the original SG200.…”
