“…The fungal endophyte N. oryzae seems to be remarkably versatile with regard to its production of secondary compounds. In a previous study we isolated N. oryzae from the African rain forest tree Combretum dolichopetalum . The compounds produced by the latter fungal isolate included a tetrahydroanthraquinone and two abscisic acid derivatives but no flavonoid glycosides.…”

“…Loranthus micranthus (family Loranthaceae) is a Nigerian mistletoe species which has been widely used in African traditional medicine for many ailments such as microbial infections, cancer, diabetes and others . In the course of our ongoing research on plant endophytic fungi and their metabolic partnership with host plants, we have investigated a mycelial extract of the endophytic fungus Nigrospora oryzae isolated from leaves of L. micranthus . Chemical investigation of the ethyl acetate (EtOAc) extract of N. oryzae led to the isolation and unequivocal identification of three quercetin‐3‐ O ‐glycosides; namely guaijaverin (= quercetin‐3‐ O ‐ α ‐L‐arabinopyranoside; 1 ), isoquercetrin (= quercetin‐3‐ O ‐ β ‐D‐glucopyranoside; 2 ) and hyperin (= quercetin‐3‐ O ‐ β ‐D‐galactopyranoside; 3 ) .…”

“…By amplifying and sequencing the ITS region, four species were identified (Fusarium oxysporum, F. solani, Hypocrea koningii and Aspergillus oryzae). Uzor et al (2015) isolated the fungus Nigrospora oryzae from leaves of Combretum dolichopetalum.…”

“…It was shown that this plant possesses hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, antiulcer, and antidiabetic activity. [67] Research has shown that root extract had a significant protective effect against duodenal and gastric ulcer in rat induced by indomethacin administration and cold stress. Tannin and Saponin structures were known as effective agents in this function.…”
