Metabolism: Hereditary Errors

Abstract: Inherited metabolic diseases can be both monogenic and polygenic. The monogenic forms are usually rare and are characterised by early onset. Examples include maturity‐onset diabetes of the young (MODY), phenylketonuria and glycogen storage diseases.
