Metabolic and Hormonal Responses to Salbutamol in Asthma. Evidence of Beta-Adrenergic Overactivity?

Abstract: The possibility that β-adrenergic hyposensitivity may be involved in the pathogenesis of bronchial asthma remains a controversial issue. The hormonal, metabolic and cardiovascular responses to selective β2-adrenergic stimulation with salbutamol were compared in 11 asthmatic and 11 non-asthmatic subjects.
