E-Learning has been massively used in higher education, one of which is in Universitas Indonesia. The e-learning system in Universitas Indonesia is called Student Centered E-Learning Environment Universitas Indonesia (SCELE UI). This research determines the effect of usability on the intention to use SCELE UI in a sustainable way. The Expectation Confirmation Model (ECM) is used as a basis of the research model. Perceived Usability, Learnability, Presentation, Navigation and Error variables are added to the model. The Partial Least Square is used to analyze and test the model. Of the 12 proposed hypotheses, 10 hypotheses were accepted and 2 hypotheses were rejected. This research gives theoretical and practical contributions. On the theoretical side, this research successfully proposes and examines the integration of usability and ECM in the context of sustain e-learning usage intention. This research reveals the indirect effect of Perceived Usability on continued usage intention of the e-learning system. On the practical side, this research also provides insights for developers and universities that can help them to effectively foster the improvement of their system that can ensure sustained usage by their students.

Los MOOC se han convertido en una tecnología emergente que se está fuertemente acercando a las instituciones educativas. Su evolución permite identificar una diversidad de modelos. Los denominados t-MOOC son objeto de este artículo por su tendencia a apoyarse en la realización de tareas por parte del estudiante. La presencia de tecnologías en las tareas educativas hace que las competencias que deban poseer los docentes sean más amplias que el mero dominio de contenidos y metodologías de enseñanza, por lo que se hace necesario hacer hincapié en el desarrollo de Competencia Digital Docente (CDD). El proyecto que se presenta pretende analizar las posibilidades educativas de los t-MOOC para la formación de CDD del profesorado. La investigación se articula en tres grandes fases: A) la primera es la concreción de los contenidos de una acción formativa centrada en la adquisición de la competencia digital docente. La unidad de contenido estará estructurada por una Guía de aprendizaje: objetivos y competencias con recomendaciones para su seguimiento, bibliografía básica, bibliografía para saber, un Clip de vídeo y E-actividades que deberán desarrollar los estudiantes. B) La segunda fase es la creación de una comunidad virtual formada por profesorado de infantil/primaria, secundaria/bachillerato/formación profesional y universidad e investigadores preocupados por las CDD. C) Y la tercera la creación de un entorno formativo bajo la arquitectura t-MOOC que constará de varias etapas: Diseño y elaboración de los contenidos, Producción de los contenidos del t-MOOC y Evaluación de los contenidos y t-MOOC elaborado. Para esta última etapa se llevará a cabo una evaluación por los productores, por expertos y se realizará un estudio piloto. Utilizaremos varios instrumentos tanto de corte cuantitativo (TAM. IMMS y TCC) como cualitativo (entrevistas a los participantes de las acciones formativa, y el análisis de contenido redes sociales creadas en el t-MOOC).

E-Learning Research Trends in Higher Education in Light of COVID-19: A Bibliometric Analysis

This paper provides a broad bibliometric overview of the important conceptual advances that have been published during COVID-19 within “e-learning in higher education.” E-learning as a concept has been widely used in the academic and professional communities and has been approved as an educational approach during COVID-19. This article starts with a literature review of e-learning. Diverse subjects have appeared on the topic of e-learning, which is indicative of the dynamic and multidisciplinary nature of the field. These include analyses of the most influential authors, of models and networks for bibliometric analysis, and progress towards the current research within the most critical areas. A bibliometric review analyzes data of 602 studies published (2020–2021) in the Web of Science (WoS) database to fully understand this field. The data were examined using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and KnowledgeMatrix Plus to extract networks and bibliometric indicators about keywords, authors, organizations, and countries. The study concluded with several results within higher education. Many converging words or sub-fields of e-learning in higher education included distance learning, distance learning, interactive learning, online learning, virtual learning, computer-based learning, digital learning, and blended learning (hybrid learning). This research is mainly focused on pedagogical techniques, particularly e-learning and collaborative learning, but these are not the only trends developing in this area. The sub-fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning constitute new research directions for e-learning in light of COVID-19 and are suggestive of new approaches for further analysis.
