Mesoporous NaTi2(PO4)3/CMK-3 nanohybrid as anode for long-life Na-ion batteries

Abstract: NASICON-type NaTi2(PO4)3nanoparticles with a size of ∼5 nm homogeneously embedded in mesoporous CMK-3 have been synthesized. Due to the unique structures, the electrode exhibits excellent electrochemical performances as a potential anode for NIBs.

“…1b, can be indexed assuming a rhombohedral unit cell of a =8.5992(1) Å and c =21.8181(4) Å. The similar lattice parameters to those of Na 3 V 2 (PO 4 ) 3 (refs 7, 9) and NaTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 (refs 14, 24) and the fact that no specific diffraction lines are extinct indicate that the current phase is isostructural to these phases and crystallizes also in the space group R c . The Rietveld refinement based on the synchrotron diffraction data converged to R wp =4.39% and R p =3.22% with reasonable displacement and site occupancy factors for all atoms as listed in Supplementary Table 1, suggesting a reliable structural analysis.…”

“…The cyclic voltammogram (CV) of NaTi 2 (PO 4 ) 3 /C at a scan rate of 0.1 mV s −1 was analyzed to investigate their redox kinetic properties. In Figure 5A, at the 1st cycle, a pair of redox peaks at 1.97/2.29 V can be attributed to conversion reaction of Ti 4+ /Ti 3+ (Pang et al, 2014a; Fang et al, 2016; Ye et al, 2017). Moreover, another pair of cathodic/anodic peaks located at 0.27/0.57 V can be attributed to the redox reaction between Ti 3+ and Ti 2+ (Senguttuvan et al, 2013; Wang D. et al, 2016).…”

“…[30][31][32][33] Nevertheless, if the carbon coating layer is too thick, the migration of Na ions through interfaces between electroactive materials and electrolytes could be prevented, which is attributed to the thick carbon layer hinder the electrolyte penetration in the active material. 21, 23, 27-29 Among them, NASICON-type materials coated with carbon shells are attractive in improving the cycling performance.…”
