Mercenaries and Private Security Companies

Abstract: Mercenaries are fighters who are primarily motivated by economic gain and bound by short‐term contracts. Unlike regular soldiers, they owe no allegiance to particular countries or regimes; rather, they choose where and when they fight and for whom. They fight and kill on behalf of their clients or train the client's regular forces to do the same.
