There is not the scope here to go into a detailed outline of each of these disciplines' contributions but some descriptions of home have included home as: a shelter and place of security (Bauman, 1996;Sibley, 2001;Watson and Austerberry, 1986), the location of important social relations (Bahlool, 1996;Davidson, 2008;Massey, 1992), intimacy (Boym, 2000), privacy (Reinders and van der Land, 2008) and choice and control (Watson and Austerberry, 1986).
