“…The detection of antigen or DNA of N. meningitidis from sterile site also confirms the disease. 2,6,7 Gram staining of blood, CSF and skin aspirates facilitates early identification of patients for targeted therapy. All our patients had meningococcemia and their meningococcal isolates were subsequently confirmed by biochemical tests and PCR.…”
