Membranes of polyphenylacetylene as catalysts of the photodegradation of organic pollutants

Abstract: Membranes based on doped polyphenylacetylene act as catalysts for the photodegradation of organic pollutants such as chlorophenols and butylcellosolve. With a reaction time of about one day, an efficiency of about 70% can be obtained; in some cases, by optimizing the experimental conditions further better results are recorded. Some observations about the reaction behaviour yield useful info£ mations about mechanism.
