Nowadays, the term "Jiha̅d" has taken on the connotation of a frightening term (logophobia). This is due to the fact that religious extremists use it in a very narrow context. Unfortunately, the concept of pure and vast Jihad has been tainted by insights and actions that have transcended its borders, resulting in the term Jihad being viewed negatively by some segments of the world's society. The study examines how these scholars (of Salafi Jihadism) interpret these specific verses of the Holy Quran, as well as how their concepts and explanations regarding Jihad verses differ from other scholars. A thorough qualitative method is used in this article to examine the misinterpretation of the Jiha̅d verses used by Salafi Jihadism. The study shows, first, the Salafi-Jihadi movement interprets jihad verses only based on literal meanings, ignoring the context of the asbab nuzul verses, pay less attention to the period and socio-historical verses revealed. Second, considering jihad as a physical struggle only and war in the way of Allah as a natural obligation for Muslims.

Being the most discussed issue in various parts of the world (including Indonesia), Terrorism is considered contrary to humanitarian understanding, which causes losses, both economically, politically, and psychologically. The issue of Terrorism has recently become a hot topic of public discussion. The reason is that terrorists massively use the word Jihad as a justification for their actions. This article uses a descriptive qualitative approach as the primary writing approach. In-depth search for various literature appropriate to the discussion of Jihad and Terrorism from an Islamic point of view. Religion is one of the motivations for a person to join a terror group. Religion is one reason that encourages the emergence of Terrorism due to the oppression that occurs in religion in a specific country. Call it Syria, which is famous for its wars; from there, terrorist groups spread to Indonesia by igniting the spirit of Jihad as citizens who share the same religion share the same fate. After a deeper investigation, the Jihad often campaigned by terror groups is not like Jihad from an Islamic point of view.

Abstrak: Artikel berfokus pada kajian kritik sosial dalam sudut pandang Islam pada novel Islammu adalah Maharku Karya Ario Muhammad dengan menggunakan pendekatan mimetik dengan teori sosiologi sastra sebagai dasar acuan. Bertujuan untuk mengetahui siapa saja sasaran kritik sosial menurut serta untuk mengetahui bagaimana hubungan kritik sosial dalam pandangan Islam dengan realitas yang terjadi di masyarakat. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka. Pendekatan tersebut digunakan karena dalam pengumpulan dan penganalisisan data melalui kajian studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah 1) penelitian ini ditujukkan kepada masyarakat yang masih menempatkan perempuan pada posisi kedua dalam hak-hak yang sama, sedang Islam mengatakan semua manusia memiliki derajat yang sama. Masyarakat yang menormalisasi budaya barat di tengah-tengah hidup di Asia Tenggara di mana kehidupan bebas yang sangat Islam benci, masyarakat yang menerapkan sikap diskriminasi terhadap agama, dan masyarakat yang memiliki persepsi buruk pada agama salah satunya Islam. 2) kritik sosial dalam pandangan Islam memiliki hubungan realitas dengan masyarakat yang tampak nyata, Islam mengatur segala cara kehidupan baik dalam individu maupun sosial, jadi persoalan, serta penyimpangan yang terjadi di masyarakat sudah Islam diatur sedemikian rupa. Sehingga realitas yang terjadi di masyarakat berhubungan erat dengan pandangan Islam. Kata kunci: Kritik sastra, kritik sosial, novel Islammu adalah Maharku.
