Melting Phenomenon in MHD Stagnation Point Flow of Dusty Fluid over a Stretching Sheet in the Presence of Thermal Radiation and Non-Uniform Heat Source/Sink

Abstract: A comprehensive numerical study is conducted to investigate effect of melting on flow and heat transfer of incompressible viscous dusty fluid near two-dimensional stagnation-point flow over a stretching surface, in the presence of thermal radiation, non uniform heat source/sink and applied magnetic field. Using suitable transformations, the governing nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed in to a set of coupled nonlinear ordinary differential equations and then they are solved numerically. “…Tien and Yen [13] analyzed convective heat transfer of a melting body. This study also spreads out the recent work of [14]- [16] to examine the marked effects of melting heat transfer on the flow system.…”

“…Manjunatha et al [37] have studied the heat transfer analysis of steady two dimensional flow of conducting dusty fluid over a stretching cylinder immersed in a porous media under the influence of non-uniform source/sink. Recently, Prasannakumara et al [38] analyzed melting phenomenon in MHD stagnation point flow of dusty fluid over a stretching sheet in the presence of thermal radiation and nonuniform heat source/sink. Although the flow of dusty fluid over a stretching plate has been considered extensively in the literature, no work has been reported on the problem of effect of thermal stratification on flow and heat transfer of two-phase flow over stretching sheet.…”
