“…This study concluded that medium-dose UVA1 therapy was superior to NB UVB therapy. Similar to Sator et al, a significant decrease in skin thickness via ultrasound measurements was seen only with the administration of medium-dose UVA1 (50 J/ cm 2 ) [29]. Additional studies continue to support the efficacy of medium-dose UVA1 therapy both in the long-term and shortterm treatment of morphea [31], and the evidence suggests that satisfactory results can be achieved with medium-dose UVA1 therapy delivered over 25-35 sessions.…”

“…Outcome measures included change in clinical examination, skin score, ultrasound measurements, cutometer measurements, skin biopsy specimens or a composite of these measures [21,23,25,[27][28][29]. More recently, Sator et al conducted a randomized controlled study to evaluate the immediate-and long-term efficacy of low-dose versus medium-dose UVA1 phototherapy [29]. In this study, 16 patients with at least three lesions of plaque-type morphea (comparable in location and evolution) were included and treated with either 20 or 70 J/cm 2 UVA1 or no radiation for a total of 30 sessions.…”

“…Badanie głowy metodą rezonansu magnetycznego może wykazać nieprawidłowości, takie jak poszerzenie komory mózgu, zanik kory mó-zgowej i zwapnienie jąder podkorowych [6]. Ultrasonografia z wykorzystaniem częstotliwości 10-25 MHz pomaga w określeniu grubości skóry i ocenie aktywności choroby [7]. Badanie elektroencefalograficzne umoż-liwia ocenę czynności mózgu i uwidocznienie nieprawidłowości, nawet w razie braku napadów.…”

“…Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain and skull may reveal abnormalities such as dilated ventricle, atrophy of the cortex and subcortical calcification [6]. A 10-25 MHz ultrasound scan can help to measure the skin thickness and assess disease activity [7]. An electroencephalogram may be employed to study brain activity and may reveal abnormalities even in the absence of seizures.…”
