“…While treatment for serious adverse events was a rarely reported outcome in our study, rates were still higher than those reported in studies of abortions taking place in the clinical setting. 19 , 28 We note, however, that we are not able to verify whether the treatment received by users of the service who did engage with the formal healthcare system was appropriate to their situation. For example, most of those who reported receiving surgical intervention also received antibiotics, which may have been given prophylactically or to treat an existing infection.…”

The groups include individuals with mental disorders, children, adolescents, elderly people, minority groups, persons with lower socioeconomic status and women [ 26 ]. Individuals infected with coronavirus, quarantined or those who lost their jobs were the most exposed to severe stress [ 27 ].…”

“…Termination of pregnancy in a patient with a large uterine leiomyomata poses significant challenges to clinicians. A leiomyoma itself is not considered a contraindication for either medical or surgical abortion [ 1 – 3 ]. However, theoretically, it reduces myometrial contractility by weakening the uterine contractile force and impairing the expulsive mechanism [ 4 , 5 ].…”
