In recent times, one of the most common distressful disorders among children is enuresis. It makes them highly vulnerable to the development of behavioural and mental health disorders, such as attention deficit disorder, conduct disorders, oppositional defiant disorders among others. This study aimed to determine the pattern of behavioural disorder in children with enuresis in a rural community in South -West, Nigeria.Descriptive research design using an intervieweradministered questionnaire to elicit information on the perceived pattern of behavioural disorder in children with enuresis. Mothers of children with enuresis (198) in a rural community were selected using accidental sampling method.Both descriptive and inferential statistical tests were employed in analyzing data collected for this study. Aim To describe the epidemiological aspects of nocturnal enuresis (NE). In this study we identify the prevalence and the familial conditions in a large, representative sample of children with monosymptomatic NE (MNE) and nonmonosyptomatic NE (NMNE). Material and methods In this descriptive-analytic study the Italian Society of Pediatrics (SIP) promoted a prevalence study of NE using a questionnaire involved 320 primary care Pediatricians from Northern, Central and Southern Italy, from January 2019 to July 2019, with a total of 130,000 children analyzed by questionnaire related to epidemiology and type of NE, familiarity, quality of sleep, eating and drinking habits, pharmacological and psychological/behavioural interventions and family involvement. Results 270/320 (84.4%) Paediatrician replied to our questionnaire. We enrolled a total of 9307/130,000 (7.2%) children with NE, aged between 5 and 14 years: 2141 diagnosed with MNE and 7176 qualified as NMNE. Poor quality of sleep were reported in 7064 patients; 90% of children did not consider a dietary and drinking recommendation. Pediatrician reported a total of 54.1% of parents who declared to have a negative reaction to their children because of the bedwetting. A percentage of 71.4% of parents declared to use or to have used alternative therapies and not to prefer, at first, a pharmacological intervention. Conclusion The choice of treatment should include psychological/behavioural interventions in all cases to improve the therapeutic outcome. All primary care Pediatricians should be aware of the all aspects of NE to choose the best way to treat every patient.

Aşırı aktif mesane (AAM) ve çocukluk çağı işeme bozuklukları önemli ve sık rastlanılan sağlık sorunlarıdır. Literatürde çocukluk çağı işeme bozukluklarının erişkin çağda AAM için önemli bir risk faktörü olduğu gösterilmiştir. Biz de çocukluk çağında işeme bozukluğu görülen kişilerde erişkin çağda AAM ortaya çıkmasını kolaylaştıran faktörleri ortaya koymayı amaçladık. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çocukluk çağında işeme bozukluğu görülen 144 hasta çalışmaya dahil edildi. Hastalar erişkin dönemde AAM görülenler (1. Grup) ve görülmeyenler (2. Grup) olarak 2 gruba ayrıldı. Tüm hastalara demografik bilgilerini, yeme içme alışkanlıklarını sorgulayan anket formu uygulandı. Bulgular: 1. grupta 44 kadın (%59,5), 30 erkek (%39,5) dahil edildi. 2. grupta 31 kadın (% 44,3), 39 erkek (% 55,7) vardı. 1. Grup Vücut kitle indeksi ortalaması (26,0±5,2) 2. gruptan (24,4±3,4) yüksek bulundu. (p=0,034). Gruplar arasında yeme içme alışkanlıklarından günlük su, çay ve kahve tüketimi arasından fark yoktu. Acı tüketiminin ise 1. Grubun 2. Gruptan anlamlı olarak yüksek olduğu saptandı (p=0,003). Sigara tüketimi açısından gruplar arasında anlamlı fark saptanmadı (p=0,796). Alkol tüketimi 1. Grupta fazla olmakla birlikte istatiksel anlamlı fark saptanmadı (p=0,591). Sonuç: Çocukluk çağında işeme bozukluğu olan hastalarda erişkin çağda AAM için risk faktörleri olarak obezite ve acı yiyecek tüketimi olabileceğini ortaya koyduk. Daha büyük hasta grupları ile yapılacak prospektif çalışmalar ile bu risk faktörleri ve etiyolojide yer alabilecek farklı risk faktörlerinin belirlenebileceğini düşünmekteyiz.
