After COVID-19 pandemic era, the online teaching process has been adapted and used for various learning purposes. Some of the shortcomings of the online system are the limited interaction in practical learning, such as application-based practice. In addition, the process of practicum is not optimal because some students cannot carry out the instructions given due to the limited equipment of the students such as personal computers or laptops. Therefore, this research was conducted to make modifications to the application-based practicum system (AutoCAD practicum) with a remote system using the Team Viewer application. This study uses mixed method qualitative and quantitative where the questionnaire was given to participants after the training. The population that will be used in this study are all students who take the Introduction to Design engineering course with AutoCAD Practicum material. The results of this study show that the accessibility, interface and operation of the AutoCAD application can be done properly using the Team Viewer application with the students' smartphone media so that the practicum can be done properly. This strategy can overcome the problems of limited equipment and passive interaction during the practicum process. In addition, the strategies and methods can be widely applied to learning in general and other application-based practicums.

Salah satu metode efektif yang dapat diterapkan pada pembelajaran praktikum secara daring pada masa pandemi COVID-19 yaitu, remote laboratory yang merupakan paduan dunia nyata dengan dunia maya menggunakan jaringan internet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang remote laboratory berbasis protokol Virtual Network Computing (VNC) pada Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) yang merupakan salah satu perangkat praktikum yang rutin digunakan di Laboratorium Otomasi Industri. Remote laboratory berupa website remote laboratory untuk administrator, terdiri dari manajemen user dan manajemen course; dan untuk pengguna terdiri dari login, course dan jadwal, urutan pengguna dan remote desktop berisi PLC Trainer, XG5000 dan kamera. Dari hasil pengujian remote laboratory mulai dari registrasi, website remote laboratory, login, pemilihan mata kuliah, kesesuaian jadwal mata kuliah, urutan pengguna dan remote desktop dapat diakses sehingga remote laboratory yang dirancang mampu bekerja dengan baik. Adanya waktu tunda sebesar 0,52-1,73 detik terhadap hasil pengambilan gambar oleh kamera sebagai visualisasi tampilan untuk memantau secara daring kegiatan praktikum di laboratorium pada komputer client dipengaruhi oleh kondisi jaringan internet yang digunakan terutama pada komputer server.

This research aims to provide solutions for practical learning in the vocational field of mechatronic engineering during the Covid-19 pandemic. In order for vocational students to become skilled and competent, a considerable number of hours of practice is required. Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of Covid-19, restrictions on face-to-face meetings have been imposed. To make the number of hours of student practice sufficient without having to meet face to face, a remote laboratory is presented, which can be accessed by students easily, anytime and anywhere. The developed remote laboratory uses real equipment, in the form of the Mitsubishi RV-M1 Industrial Robot, which is monitored by 3 cameras, and can be controlled via the internet. The use of a real robot, not a simulation, is intended so that students can feel the experience as if they were practicing the robot directly. This remote laboratory for the practice of programming the Mitsubishi RV-M1 Industrial Robot has been successfully developed and is already being used by mechatronics students at the vocational faculty of Sanata Dharma University. Most of the students gave a good response to this remote laboratory, because students got a new and interesting experience. To demonstrate the effectiveness of this remote laboratory, a comparison is shown of the average time for searching for the position of an object directly and indirectly through the remote laboratory. From the results of the comparison, the average time to search for the position of an object directly ranges from 1-2 minutes, while through a remote laboratory it ranges from 2-3 minutes, which is considered to be within reasonable limits.
