“…We found a high rate of addiction among railway workers, with 16.9% for smoking and 69.7% for excessive alcohol consumption. Other authors in SSA report discrepancies about addiction rates: 73% for excessive alcohol consumption, 23% of smoking in Cameroon [14], 12.3% of smoking in Senegal [15], 33.6% of excessive alcohol consumption and 3 2% of smoking in Congo.
