Abstract: HighlightsThe most commom complications of Meckel’s diverticulum are inflammation, haemorrhage, and intestinal obstruction. The perforation of a Meckel’s diverticulum by a foreign body is a very rare complication, with few cases reported in the literature.Definitive treatment is surgical intervention, and should not be delayed by supplementary radiographic imaging in patients with peritonitis.
