Mechanochemical conversion of nano potassium hydrogen terephthalate to thallium analogue nanoblocks with strong hydrogen bonding and straight chain metalophillic interactions

Abstract: 6 -HTA)] n (1), [H 2 TA = terephetalic acid], prepared by sonochemical procedure, to Tl I analogue coordination polymer nanoblocks was studied. The structure of [Tl(μ 3 -HTA)] n (2) is exactly the same as 1 and the Tl ion has distorted octahedral coordination. The carbonyl oxygen is coordinated to two different metal ions, while another oxygen atom is bonded to one metal and participates in a very strong hydrogen bond. Both compounds have secondary straight chain metallophilic interactions. In addition to the … Show more

“…Herein, we wish to report a new thallium‐based coordination polymer, [Tl( μ 3 –3‐HClb)( μ 3 –3‐Clb)] n ( 1 ) with linear thallophilic and covalent hydrogen‐bonding interactions, which was characterized by IR spectroscopy and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Prior to this study, some coordination polymers with metallophilic interaction, such as [Na( μ 2 ‐Hdcpa)( μ 3 ‐dcpa)] n , (Hdcpa = 2,4‐dichlorophenoxyacetic acid), [Tl( μ 3 ‐HTA)] n , (H 2 TA = terephetalic acid) and {[Ag(1‐methylhydantoin)]·0.5H 2 O} n , were reported. Moreover, the effects of ultrasonic irradiation, the concentration of initial reagents and types of solvents on the formation of the nanostructure of compound 1 were investigated.…”

“…However, unfortunately, the crystallization process of this compound in water was not successful. In an continuation of our previous work on investigating the structural conversion of MOFs , and coordination polymers, in this case a comparison between the PXRD pattern of the A phase with those of other reported MOFs constructed from Ca 2+ and terephthalic acid in the presence of water was done in order to find some similar patterns (Figure S8 in the Supporting Information). (1) A PXRD pattern (Figure S8 in the Supporting Information) that is attributed to a MOF with the formula [Ca(BDC)(DMF)(H 2 O)] n formula was similar to that of the A phase.…”

“…Herein, we wish to report a potassium‐based coordination polymer, [K ( μ 7 ‐HTar)] n ( 1 ) with zigzag chain K···K metallophilic interactions, which was characterized by IR spectroscopy and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. Moreover, the effects of ultrasonic irradiation, concentration of initial reagents and types of solvents on formation of compound 1 nanostructures were investigated.…”
