“…The code developed for improved non-linear fitting can be applied in many areas where the adsorption is studied. Adsorption is often used in studying environmental processes such as the adsorption of environmentally harmful gases [42,43], the adsorption of substances from water and wastewaters [44,45], the extraction of precious metals from electronic wastes [46], and adsorption-cooling systems [47]. The adsorption process is also important for new types of packaging like active packaging, where moisture is adsorbed by the active component situated within packaging material or in sachets inside packaging [48].…”

“…102,[118][119][120] For example, by using alginate as a monomer and Calcium as a cross-linker, Au(III) imprinted porous epichlorohydrin/thiourea modified alginate beads were synthesized. 102 The imprinted adsorbent displayed outstanding binding selectivity towards the target Au(III) from multi-metallic solutions with a binding capacity of 184.82 mg g -1 . Interestingly, photoreduction of Au(III) to gold particles might occur during the binding process under UV light illumination.…”

“…The intensity increase of Si-O at 106.2 eV significantly, which was due to the reaction between carboxyl groups in the depressant molecule and Si in aegirite surface. The corresponding BE peaks at 726.6 and 715.5 eV are for Fe (III) 2p1/2, and Fe (III) 2p3/2, respectively; 733.4 and 719.7 V are for Fe (III) 2p1/2 satellite, and Fe (III) 2p3/2 satellite, respectively (Biesinger, 2011;Uhlig, 2001). There four deconvoluted peaks migrated to lower binding energies to a certain extent, indicating that iron absorbed electrons during TGA or MPA adsorption process.…”
