Mechanisms of weed suppression by cereal rye cover crop: A review

Abstract: Cereal rye (Secale cereale L.) is an important cover crop species in the United States. It has the potential to minimize soil erosion, reduce nutrient leaching, decrease fertilizer inputs, improve soil water after termination, and enhance soil organic matter.
