Mechanism of optical limiting in metalloporphyrins under visible continuous radiation

Qian Zhang,
Bishuai Lu,
Shan Liu
et al.

Abstract: Both the Kerr effect and thermal nonlinear optical effects are studied simultaneously using cw lasers in metalloporphyrin compounds. The optical limiting performance of Zn-porphyrins is demonstrated and its dependence on sample position is examined.

“…In our previous report, 42 the values of n 2 for phthalocyanines samples were in the range of (1.46–11.53) × 10 −5 cm 2 W −1 . Zhang et al 43 studied the NLO effects in metalloporphyrins and reported the values of n 2 of the order of 10 −6 cm 2 W −1 . Hassan et al 44 reported the values of n 2 for the polymer solution, which was 0.33 × 10 −6 cm 2 W −1 .…”
