“…The deconvoluted C 1s spectrum for PSf/PDMS can be fitted to only one main peak at 285 eV, correlating to the C−Si bonding and a weak peak at 287 eV for the C−O bonding from residues (Figure 2B), while clear C−C, C−N, CO and −CF 3 peaks at 284.5, 286.3, 288.5, and 292.6 eV, respectively, are detected after incorporating PI selective layers at the surface of the PSf/ PDMS support (Figure 2C). The N 1s spectrum of the TFC membrane containing the PI selective layer can be fitted to three peaks at 399.5, 400.1, and 401.1 eV, corresponding to the −CONH−, C−N−C, and N(C 2 H 5 ), 35,36 respectively, which further reveal the formation of cross-linked PI layers. The chemical makeup of cross-linked PI layer was further probed by combining 13 C-NMR and FTIR spectroscopies.…”
