Mechanical ventilation. Part II: Basic principles and function of ventilators.

Abstract: Mechanical ventilation is the process of supporting respiration by manual or mechanical means. When normal breathing is inefficient or has stopped, mechanical ventilation is life-saving and should be applied at once.
