Mechanical properties of (surface‐modified potassium polytitanate small additives)/epoxy composite materials

Abstract: The article presents research on the mechanical properties of epoxy resin modified with potassium polytitanate small additives. The influence of the surface modification of potassium polytitanate particles on their properties and interaction with epoxy resins and the mechanical properties of the resulting composite were investigated. The interactions among the dressing additives, binders and fillers were determined. The study shows the dependence of properties of composite materials on the content of dressing … Show more

“…The structure and properties of polytitanates depend significantly on the composition of the initial components, the K 2 O/TiO 2 ratio in the molecule, and the conditions of synthesis. Depending on the conditions of synthesis, PPTs can form amorphous or crystalline structures with particles of different morphologies, from a layered scalylike form, nanofibers and microfibers with different cross‐sectional shapes, to hollandite‐like tunnel structures …”

“…On the other hand, sintered ceramic materials based on modified potassium polytitanates (PPTs) and represented by hollandite‐like solid solutions (K 1.46 Ti 8‐x Me x O 16 , Me—transition metal) exhibit permittivity at level of the world's best performance ceramics ( ε' = 10 5 –10 7 at 10 −2 Hz frequencies and ε' = 10 2 –10 3 at 1 MHz) . In our previous works, the efficient interaction between polymer matrix and surface of the PPTs particles and high mechanical strength of polytitanate‐based composites has been shown . That is why they can be considered as promising fillers for the PTFE‐matrix functional composites.…”

“…Fibrous materials possess high mechanical durability, low thermal conductivity and good reflectivity over a wide spectral range [11,12]. The authors [13][14][15][16][17] show the big prospects in application of fibrous tetra-and hexatitanates at thermoplasts reinforcing (polypropylene, polyamide, acrylic-styrene-stirolla, etc. ).…”
