Mechanical properties of in situ modified graphene nanosheets‐reinforced polypropylene

Abstract: Despite the great potential of graphene as a nanofiller, its inhomogeneous dispersion in polymers remains a key challenge for the effective reinforcement of polymer. Herein, we exfoliated worm graphite into graphene by in situ liquidphase exfoliation, and the graphene was coated on the surface of polypropylene (PP) pellets by stirring. Further, we examined several treatment conditions and graphene contents. When graphene was centrifuged at 1000 rpm and the extrusion temperature of the composite was 230 C, the … Show more

“…[5] Due to these characteristics, it is also considered for the production of composite materials using different reinforcing that provides improved characteristics. [6][7][8] Quaternary ammonium salts (QAS) represent an accessible antiseptic with antiviral properties that could be used against SARS-CoV-2 due to their ability to form active bonds capable of breaking the protein capsid of different viruses and bacteria. [9][10][11][12][13][14] Ogilvie et al formulated different quaternary ammonium disinfectants, demonstrating that their formulations rapidly inactivate SARS-CoV-2, making them potentially useful for controlling SARS-CoV-2 spread in hospitals and the community.…”

“…Despite the fact that PP is classified in semicrystalline polymers, the crystallization study of PP/EPDM nanocomposites is a contributing factor to fully understand their performances. [ 48 ] Hence, the effect of graphene type and PP/EPDM ratio on the crystallization behavior of the PP/EPDM nanocomposites was studied by DSC. The nonisothermal crystallization and melting parameters for all the specimens are listed in Table 8.…”
