Mechanical Properties of Pva Nanofiber Textiles With Incorporated Nanodiamonds, Copper and Silver Ions

Abstract: Abstract. The unique properties of nanotextiles based on poly(vinyl-alcohol) (PVA) manufactured using the electrospinning method have been known and exploited for many years. Recently, the enrichment of nanofiber textiles with nanoparticles, such as ions or nanodiamond particles (NDP), has become a popular way to modify the textile mechanical, chemical and physical properties of the textile. The aim of our study is to investigate the macromechanical properties of PVA nanotextiles enriched with NDP, silver (Ag)… Show more

“…Por ejemplo, sabiendo que una salamandra se adhiere a la pared gracias a la presencia de nanoestructuras en sus dedos es posible diseñar nuevos adhesivos usando esa tecnología. Estos conocimientos han permitido idear tejidos inteligentes que no se mojan y que se usan en modernas e innovadoras prendas de vestir (Indrová et al, 2015).…”

“…The obtained conventional laboratory results (mainly tensile strength of a pure poly-propylene (PP) matrix [5,6] and a part of the perforated foil of width equal to 300 mm) demonstrate that the strength of the foil is not reduced after 2 years of exposure to UV radiation and weathering. Another important task was to develop a method to be used on-site in order to assess an optimum force to fully active the originally 2D foil into the spatial structure.…”

“…Electrospun PVA nanofibers have many applications, especially in industry and medicine. They are used as filter materials, , in textiles, and as drug carriers. Moreover, PVA nanofibers are biodegradable and biocompatible, have low toxicity, and can be functionalized with different chemical groups …”
