Mechanical properties of polyvinyl chloride-coated fabric under cyclic tests

Abstract: The aim of the present paper is to propose a method of laboratory tests necessary for the identification of mechanical properties of the coated fabric. The material parameters of the coated fabric AF 9032 are specified on the basis of the uniaxial and biaxial tensile tests. For the identification process, the techniques based on the least squares methods are used. Additionally, the uniaxial and biaxial cyclic tests are performed in order to observe a change of immediate mechanical properties under cyclic load.

“…10 and 11) that a part of the stress-strain curves for biaxial tests under different load ratios are located nearby 1:1 loading carves the mean curve of the stress-strain curves for 1:1 load ratio is specified. Based on the concept described in [35] the results of the piece-wise linear approximation for 1:1 biaxial tensile tests are determined, presented in Table 5. The strain e specifies the range of applicability of the longitudinal stiffness values F. The mean values of non-linear elastic parameters describe the warp and weft 1:1 stressstrain loading curves with coefficients of determination R 2 > 0.99.…”

“…Apparently, there are several, solely macroscopic models in the literature. The dense net method uses two independent functions to be fitted to the uniaxial measurements in the two orthotropic directions (Ambroziak [1][2]). It uses nonlinear functions to represent the different slopes of the stress-strain curves (Chaboche [8], Bodner [5]), however it lacks to handle the interaction between the two orthogonal yarn directions, practically there is no transversal interaction in the model.…”
