A new hardfacing alloy within the Fe-Ti-Nb-Mo-V-C alloying system was utilized to restore the working surfaces of cone crusher rotors using Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW). TiC, NbC, Mo2C, VC, Mn, and ferromanganese powders were selected as the base materials for manufacturing the welding wire. The resulting hardfaced layer exhibits a composite structure, with manganese austenite as the matrix and complex solid solution reinforcements with a NaCl structure, closely resembling the formula (Ti0.3Nb0.3Mo0.3)C. The primary advantages of this hardfacing alloy include its capacity for intensive deformation hardening along with high abrasion resistance. The hardness of the hardfaced layer is approximately 47 HRC in the as-deposited state and increases to around 57 HRC after work hardening, surpassing typical hardfacing alloys derived from high manganese steel by about 10 HRC. The efficacy of the alloy was tested in restoring rotors made of Hadfield steel in a PULVOMATIC series crusher model 1145, during the milling of sand-gravel mixtures ranging from 25 to 150 mm into spalls measuring 5 to 20 mm. With an average productivity of approximately 60 tons per hour and a production volume of 300 tons, the utilization of this hardfacing alloy enabled multiple restorations of the rotor while maintaining productivity at a level of 15 thousand tons of spalls.

Purpose. The research purpose is to study the physical-chemical properties of ash and slag waste generated during the coal combustion at the Ekibastuz field in Kazakhstan, to determine the possibility of using waste as a secondary resource to reduce the negative human impact on the environment. Methods. The research uses the methods of X-ray phase and differential thermal analysis, as well as chemical analysis. The X-ray phase analysis makes it possible to determine the phase composition and structure of ash and slag wastes, while differential thermal analysis is used to study their behavior with temperature changes. A chemical analysis is performed to determine the composition of ash and slag. Findings. The chemical and granulometric composition of ash and slag waste from the Ekibastuz field coal combustion has been determined. Analysis of the ash chemical composition showed that its main components are silicon and aluminum oxides, as well as a significant amount of iron oxide. The results obtained confirm the possibility of using ash and slag waste as a secondary raw material to reduce the negative impact on the environment. Originality. It has been revealed that the thermal conductivity, ultimate strength and water-absorption of ceramic brick samples depend on the amount of ash added and the firing temperature. The possibility of obtaining building materials with minimum cement content has also been substantiated, which is a new and promising approach, given the high cost of cement as the main building material. Practical implications. The practical value of the research is in solving environmental problems associated with the use of ash and slag waste. Using these wastes as a secondary raw material, it is possible to reduce the anthropogenic burden on the environment, as well as the volume of ash dumps. In addition, vacant land previously occupied by ash and slag mixtures can be used for economic purposes.

Optimization of Technological Parameters of the Process of Forming Therapeutic Biopolymer Nanofilled Films

The prospects of using biopolymer nano-containing films for wound healing were substantiated. The main components of biopolymer composites are gelatin, polyvinyl alcohol, glycerin, lactic acid, distilled water, and zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles (NPs). Biopolymer composites were produced according to various technological parameters using a mould with a chrome coating. The therapeutic properties of biopolymer films were evaluated by measuring the diameter of the protective effect. Physico-mechanical properties were studied: elasticity, vapour permeability, degradation time, and swelling. To study the influence of technological parameters of the formation process of therapeutic biopolymer nanofilled films on their therapeutic and physico-mechanical properties, the planning of the experiment was used. According to the results of the experiments, mathematical models of the second-order were built. The optimal values of technological parameters of the process are determined, which provide biopolymer nanofilled films with maximum healing ability (diameter of protective action) and sufficiently high physical and mechanical properties: elasticity, vapour permeability, degradation time and swelling. The research results showed that the healing properties of biopolymer films mainly depend on the content of ZnO NPs. Degradation of these biopolymer films provides dosed drug delivery to the affected area. The products of destruction are carbon dioxide, water, and a small amount of ZnO in the bound state, which indicates the environmental safety of the developed biopolymer film.
