Abstract:Schizophrenia is a highly disabling disorder that affects about 1% of the population and involves impaired dopaminergic neurotransmission and glutamatergic hypofunction. Patients with this disorder have a deficiency in information processing characterized by disruption in the prepulse inhibition (PPI) test.
