Using the radiative return method, experiments at high luminosity electron-positron colliders allow to explore the kaon and the pion form factors in the time-like region up to fairly high energies. This opens the possibility to study kaon and pion pair production at and around the narrow resonances J/psi and psi(2S) and explore the interference between electromagnetic and hadronic amplitudes. Parameterizations of charged and neutral kaon as well as pion form factors are derived, which lead to an improved description of the data in the region of large invariant masses of the meson pair. These form factors are combined with the hadronic couplings of charged and neutral kaons to J/psi and psi(2S) and implemented into the Monte Carlo generator PHOKHARA, which is now, for the first time, able to simulate the production of narrow resonances and their decay into kaon, pion and muon pairs.Comment: Changes from v1: typos removed, different fit parameters for rho_4 and rho_5 in the pion form facto

We address the contribution of the 3π channel to hadronic vacuum polarization (HVP) using a dispersive representation of the e + e − → 3π amplitude. This channel gives the second-largest individual contribution to the total HVP integral in the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon (g − 2) µ , both to its absolute value and uncertainty. It is largely dominated by the narrow resonances ω and φ, but not to the extent that the off-peak regions were negligible, so that at the level of accuracy relevant for (g − 2) µ an analysis of the available data as model independent as possible becomes critical. Here, we provide such an analysis based on a global fit function using analyticity and unitarity of the underlying γ * → 3π amplitude and its normalization from a chiral low-energy theorem, which, in particular, allows us to check the internal consistency of the various e + e − → 3π data sets. Overall, we obtain a 3π µ | ≤1.8 GeV = 46.2(6)(6) × 10 −10 as our best estimate for the total 3π contribution consistent with all (low-energy) constraints from QCD. In combination with a recent dispersive analysis imposing the same constraints on the 2π channel below 1 GeV, this covers nearly 80% of the total HVP contribution, leading to a HVP µ = 692.3(3.3) × 10 −10 when the remainder is taken from the literature, and thus reaffirming the (g−2) µ anomaly at the level of at least 3.4σ. As side products, we find for the vacuum-polarization-subtracted masses M ω = 782.63(3)(1) MeV and M φ = 1019.20(2)(1) MeV, confirming the tension to the ω mass as extracted from the 2π channel.

Previous studies have shown that the Hidden Local Symmetry (HLS) Model, supplied with appropriate symmetry breaking mechanisms, provides an Effective Lagrangian (BHLS) able to encompass a large number of processes within a unified framework. This allowed to design a global fit procedure which provides a fair simultaneous description of the e + e − annihilation into 6 final states (π + π − , π 0 γ, ηγ, π + π − π 0 , K + K − , K L K S ), the dipion spectrum in the τ decay and some more light meson decay partial widths. In this paper, additional breaking schemes are defined which improve the BHLS working and extend its scope so as to absorb spacelike processes within a new framework (BHLS 2 ). The phenomenology previously explored with BHLS is fully revisited in the BHLS 2 context with special emphasis on the φ mass region using all available data samples. It is shown that BHLS 2 addresses perfectly the close spacelike region covered by NA7 and Fermilab data; it is also shown that the recent Lattice QCD (LQCD) information on the pion form factor are accurately predicted by the BHLS 2 fit functions derived from fits to only annihilation data.
