Measurements of the dielectric properties of peripheral blood mononuclear cells and trophoblast cells using AC electrokinetic techniques

Abstract: The separation of trophoblast cells from the maternal circulation could provide a valuable diagnostic tool for prenatal diagnosis of genetic abnormalities. This has been attempted using antibody methods, but due to non-specificity of the antibodies, maternal cell contamination remains a problem.
