Measurement of total photoelectric cross‐sections for 52.4 keV photons

Abstract: Accurate measurements (within 3.2%) of the total photoelectric cross‐sections of Ag, Sn and Ba for a 52.4 keV photon energy were made using an NaI(Tl) spectrometer system coupled to a 1K MCA in an extreme broad‐beam geometry configuration. The results were compared with their corresponding theoretical values and good agreement was obtained.
