Measurement of atmospheric and diffuse radiation using a time‐of‐flight telescope

Abstract: A time‐of‐flight telescope constructed by the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (Saclay) and the Centre d'Etude Spatiale des Rayonnements (Toulouse) was used for gamma ray flux measurements. The atmospheric component was studied from balloon as a function of the pressure and the energy. Gamma ray fluxes were also measured with the telescope axis oriented in various directions and with the experiment inverted. The atmospheric and diffuse components were determined in various energy ranges.
