Measurement and Modeling of Liquid–Liquid Equilibria for Water–Phosphoric Acid–Aromatic Esters

Abstract: Ternary liquid−liquid equilibrium (LLE) data were measured for the {water + phosphoric acid + aromatic esters (benzyl acetate, benzyl benzoate, dimethyl phthalate, and diethyl phthalate)} systems at T = 298.2 K and P = 101.3 kPa. Moreover, to investigate the effect of temperature on LLE behavior, the LLE measurement was performed for a ternary system of (water + phosphoric acid + benzyl acetate) at three different temperatures (298.2, 308.2, and 318.2) K and the above pressure as well. Among the studied ternar… Show more

“…Shekarsaraee et al 12 used mesityl oxide to extract phosphoric acid and investigated phase equilibria of water + phosphoric acid + mesityl oxide ternary systems at different temperatures. Ghanadzadeh Gilani et al 13 studied the ability of the aromatic esters to extract the phosphoric acid from water and measured ternary liquid−liquid equilibrium data for the {water + phosphoric acid + aromatic esters (benzyl acetate, benzyl benzoate, dimethyl phthalate, and diethyl phthalate)} systems at T = 298.2 K and P = 101.3 kPa. C ̌ernáet al 14 studied the distribution of nitric acid between water or aqueous solutions of ammonium nitrate and xylene solutions of tri-n-octyhnethylammonium nitrate or Nivol/2-ethylhexanol solutions of Aliquat 336 nitrate.…”

“…As far as one might find from the literature, solvents containing functional groups of ethers, esters, tertiary amines, amides, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, and tributyl phosphates have been employed in the recovery of PA from aqueous solutions. Nevertheless, among various solvent types, primary alcohols offer several advantages of low cost, facile applicability, and rapid separation from the setting .…”
