MEASUREMENT AND ANALYSIS OF EXCITATION FUNCTIONS AND FORWARD RECOIL RANGE DISTRIBUTIONS IN 12C + 59Co SYSTEM

Abstract: With the motivation of studying complete and incomplete fusion reactions in a 12 C+ 59 Co projectile target system, the excitation functions for (C, p3n), (C, 2p2n), (C, αn), (C, α2n), (C, αp3n) and (C, 2α2n) reactions have been measured up to 80 MeV. The well-known activation technique followed by offline high purity Ge γ-ray spectroscopy was used. The measured experimental values were compared with the statistical model calculations by using the ALICE-91 and CASCADE codes. For the calculations obtained by CA… Show more

“…The methodological details, experimental procedure, target preparation, data analysis etc. used in present work are similar to those as in our earlier publications [3,4]. The theoretical analysis of the data was carried out using the statistical models based computer codes PACE-4 [12], CASCADE [13] and ALICE-91 [14,15].…”

“…Since then several studies have been carried out to study the ICF dynamics for projectile energies near 10 MeV/nucleon. However, some recent studies in the last decade show the occurrence of incomplete fusion phenomenon at beam energies just above the Coulomb barrier [3][4][5][6][7]. Morgenstern et al [8] in his studies established the entrance-channel mass-asymmetry dependence of the ICF reaction, with the ICF probability being higher in a mass-asymmetric system than in a mass-symmetric system at the same relative velocity.…”

“…The other details of model calculations can be found in our earlier publications [1,29]. The measured EFs along with theoretical predictions obtained using the PACE4 code for representative residues populated via non α -emitting channels, (p3n) and (p4n) are shown in figure 2.…”

“…The nuclear spectroscopic data used in the evaluations and measurements of cross sections were taken from the radioactive isotopes data table of Browne and Firestone [8], and presented in Table-1. The details of the experimental arrangements, formulations, and data reduction procedures used in the present work are similar to those in the work of Agrawal et al [9]. The standard formulation reported in Ref.…”
