Measured stark widths of BI, BII, BIII and Nal spectral lines

Abstract: Stark widths of six spectral lines from neutral and multiple ionized boron and three spectral lines from neutral sodium spectra have been measured in a pulsed linear arc plasma. All the measurements have been done in the electron density range of 1.66 × 1023–2.55 × 2023m-3 and in the electron temperature range of 40 000-50 000 K. Some of these experimental values are compared with existing theoretical data.

“…7). On the other hand, our measured W for the 249.6 nm B I line is (4.8 ± 0.7) pm at 1.09 × 10 23 m −3 electron density and is in agreement (within ±25%) with ones measured in Djeniže et al (1992). Because of the observed absence of the self-absorption in the resonance B III lines, an explanation of this large disagreement is not easy.…”

“…A modified version of the linear low-pressure pulsed arc (Djeniže et al 1991;Djeniže et al 1992;Djeniže et al 1998;Milosavljević et al 2000) has been used as an optically thin plasma source. A pulsed discharge was driven in a quartz discharge tube of 5 mm inner diameter and effective plasma length of 7.2 cm ( Fig.…”
