The development of science and technology has a spirit that does not necessarily need to be translated, indicating that science can be related to academic studies associated with physics, chemistry, biology, as well as other natural sciences such as geology and astronomy. Science also means looking closely at social, economic, psychological, humanities and even educational phenomena. Lokal wisdom which has the value of indigenous science is a traditional custom passed down from generation to generation in Indonesia which needs to be supported by educational experts to be researched so that it is hoped that it will become scientific science. In Gorontalo there are several studies regarding indigenous science becoming scientific knowledge, such as discussions about panggoba related to astronomy and agrotechnology; payango (in the field of house building engineering/architecture), yinthu tuluhe plant for the health sector (medicine for skin diseases). Other research has been carried out on the benefits of tubile (tuba roots) for fish poison (piscisida), mongubingo which has religious, cultural and health value. However, it is realized that the design of Gorontalo lokal wisdom as study material in science learning is still very poorly studied. Referring to these phenomena and real facts, it is deemed necessary to carry out research using the literature study method (library) with the topic "Gorontalo Lokal Wisdom Design as Study Material in Science Learning."

“…The local wisdom of nuwo stilts has played an influential role in mitigating and reducing the risk of flood disasters, namely as an evacuation site for residents who do not have stilt houses and a place to secure the residents' valuables. Local wisdom that residents maintain is learned from nature by considering everything that is good and useful so that local wisdom, which was initially a culture and inherited values, can become something that residents utilize, including in disaster management (Purba et al, 2020). The culture of the Lampung Tribe dominates the culture in Kelumbayan District. As with other tribes in Indonesia, the Lampung tribe makes culture an identity that is attached to every member of the tribe. Local wisdom is part of the culture. Qualitative research is a process of understanding human or social phenomena by creating a comprehensive and complex picture that can be presented in words, reporting detailed views obtained from informant sources, and being carried out in natural settings. Instruments in the research were the observation of data collection, interviews, and documents. The local wisdom of nuwo onstage as a traditional house for the Lampung tribe in Kelumbayan District is still commonly found in Kelumbayan District, especially in Pekon Umbar, Napal, and Susuk. Various traditional Lampung houses are based on their shape, including the Slow Dalom Building, the Slow Pesagi, the Slow Kejayaan, the Slow Sakura, and the Slow Dalom. Nuwo Panggung in Kelumbayan District is included in the Lamban Pesagi, which has three building parts, namely the upper, middle, and lower sections. The Nuwo stage with the Lalan Pesagi type was built using a basic pattern of cylinders, cubes, and pyramids.

The COVID-19 outbreak had various impacts on human lives. The COVID-19 pandemic affected economic activities, social life, and culture, leading people to adapt to new rules and circumstances. This study aims to identify cultural activities in Lombok, such as Nyongkolan, Begibung, and Maulidan that were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and to analyze the pattern of their changes. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method. This study employs various data collection techniques, including observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The findings suggest that cultural activities have temporarily shifted to adhere to government instructions aimed at mitigating the spread of COVID-19. After the pandemic COVID-19 ends, these cultural activities are conducted in the same way as before the pandemic. However, a small number of community groups still carry out the culture of Begibung as it was during the pandemic COVID-19 on the grounds that the modifications they applied during the pandemic are more effective and efficient, so it is good to be maintained while not eliminating the essence of the Begibung itself.
