Abstract:We introduce a Bayesian approach coupled with a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method and the maximum likelihood statistic for fitting the profiles of narrow absorption lines (NALs) in quasar spectra. This method also incorporates overlap between different absorbers.
