Maximum power point tracking of the solar power plants in shadow mode through artificial neural network

Abstract: The use of solar cells despite being free of contamination and unlimited in terms of the amount of energy is considered as a costly way to generate energy. Two main factors may be enumerated as follows. First of all, the amount of sunlight and ambient temperature affected the amount of energy received from sunlight by solar panels, as long as the amount of sunlight changes overnight in line with changing weather conditions and the second one is the low efficiency of the energy conversion. The main reason for t… Show more

“…Artificial lighting has lower radiation than sunlight, and for that reason, it produces very low power compared to the rated power [40]. And the output of the PV system is proportional to the amount of solar radiation when the temperature is constant [40,41]. Artificial lighting can maintain a constant radiation and can be appropriately changed by the user.…”

“…Tracking the power from the solar panel is very difficult with variable irradiance and nonlinear loading conditions (Zandi & Mazinan, 2019). To track the maximum power from the solar PV panel with variable irradiance and loading conditions, a different MPPT algorithms are investigated by the researchers (Zarrad et al, 2019).…”

“…Solar trackers (ST) are ideal devices for efficiency improvement [3]. In the solar system, optimum performance can be achievable by considering the environmental and geographical parameters in PV system design [4]. The performance improvement obtained from the use of trackers in a PV system cannot be separated from the higher requirement of land due to the overlapping shadows between the panels.…”
