Maximizing the energy efficiency in intelligent reflecting surface‐aided unmanned aerial vehicle data collection system in presence of malicious jammers

Abstract: In this article, intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) aided an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) data collection system is investigated, where an IRS is deployed to assist in the communication from a cluster of Internet‐of‐Things (IoT) devices to a UAV in the presence of a jammer. We aim to improve the energy efficiency (EE) via the joint design of UAV trajectory, IRS passive beamforming, device power allocation and communication scheduling. However, the formulated nonlinear fractional programming problem is chall… Show more

“…Channel estimation procedures are investigated for an IRS‐aided multi‐user multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) systems operating in millimeter range 12 . IRS has been used to assist the communications in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) to improve the system performance 13,14 . Spatial modulation has also been introduced into IRS systems to obtain improved spectral efficiency and data rates 15 .…”
