Maxillary sinus volume in patients with impacted canines

Abstract: Orthodontic treatment of impacted canines created a significant increase in maxillary sinus volume when the impacted canines were closer with respect to the maxillary sinus.

“…To the authors’ best knowledge, this is the first study to utilize this technique to measure maxillary sinus graft volume in the context of dental implants. It is however a utilized technique reported in the orthodontic literature to measure airway volume and maxillary sinus volume (Darsey, English, Kau, Ellis & Akyalcin, ; Oz, Oz, El & Palomo, ; Pangrazio‐Kulbersh, Wine, Haughey, Pajtas & Kaczynski, ).
