“…11,15 Yazici et al present a maxillary allograft that can be harvested with or without skin, and use a Le Fort II-type osteotomy. 26 Clinically and experimentally, the antigenicity of the skin is higher than in other tissues, and acute rejection of the skin may require accelerated immunosuppression. 11,[27][28][29][30] Here, we present a composite tissue midface flap formed by a Le Fort III osteotomy that is composed of bone, muscle, and mucosa only, excluding the skin.…”

“…1 A modifi ed Le Fort III approach was designed: the orbital fl oor osteotomy was performed at the posterior-most aspect of the orbit. Ten full facial allografts containing mandible, maxilla, zygomatic and nasal bones were harvested through a traditional Le Fort III approach.…”

“…50 Another midfacial allograft, Le Fort II-based osteocutaneous face transplantation, was described by Yazici et al 51 Using six cadavers, in combination with MRI and angiography, the authors showed the vascular territories in the masticatory space along with the internal maxillary artery's anterior pterygomaxillary extension. It is elevated equally on right and left facial pedicles.…”
